There are however five areas that are renowned for shopping in Rome. These areas include the Piazza di Spagna- Via dei Condotti which is one of the richest streets in Italy and is considered one of the best shopping areas in Rome. There are several top designer stores in Piazza di Spagna like the Prada, Dolce and Gabbana, Armani, Versace, among others. One funny thing about this place is that the owners will charge you for walking in the door. The good thing is that nowadays all shops have a sign on paper clearly on them, letting you to go in and stroll around without anything in particular to buy.
Another place of interest to shop in Rome is the Via del Corso which is a pedestrianised street that is extended from Piazza del Popolo to the Piazza Venezia. Most Romans and tourists like this place and it is here where you can find famous shops like the Ferrari store and the Swarowski Crystal. This is one of the places where one can go for retail shopping since most shops here do not offer wholesale services to their customers. Trastevere is another place of shopping in Rome which is frequented by tourist and locals alike. It is located near the River Tiber and it is here where you can see many people buying and bargaining with vendors. This market normally starts at around 7:00am and runs until 2:00pm when it closes.
Porta Portese and Viale Marconi are two other shopping centers in Rome. Viale Marconi is popular to young Romans and it is good for shopping. The market is situated a little bit out of the city center and thus it is not congested so you will do your shopping with comfort. This place is a 15 minutes drive away from the Colosseum.
